All bevel gear screw jacks can back drive and require some means of holding the load, such as a brake on the motor.
High speed screw jacks can be assembled according to the same principle as spindle screw jacks. Prior to assembly, the rotational direction of all high speed screw jacks, bevel gears and of the drive motor must be checked for tightness and the advance direction of each individual high speed screw jack.
